Bhakti Toolbox - Gifts of the Gita
Timeless wisdom from the Bhagavad Gita. A four-week, online series.
Sita and Ram represent the Divine Union of Masculine and Feminine energy, of Consciousness and Form, of Shiva and Shakti, and together they bring us home to our hearts. When Sita and Ram are in balance, we experience wholeness and unity, giving us more strength and resilience to face our challenges.
In the story of the Ramayana, Sita is an avatar of the Goddess Sri Lakshmi, and Ram is an avatar of Lord Vishnu, Lakshmi’s eternal consort. Lakshmi and Vishnu incarnate on earth as Sita and Ram to restore truth and righteousness to the world by destroying the evil demon Ravana.
On earth, they are the ideal representation of marriage and devotion. Sita is known for her courage, dedication, and purity, while Rama is known for his truth, compassion, and unconditional love. But they are so much more than these avatars, and their teachings go far beyond the story of the Ramayana.
In this new module of the Bhakti Toolbox workshop series, we will explore how Sita and Ram can show us the way to union, balance, and wholeness. Through mantra, meditation, kirtan, storytelling, and Satsang, we will learn ways to balance our own masculine and feminine energies so we can live life more fully and authentically.
Sita Navami, Sita’s birthday (also called Janaki Jayanti), lands on May 21st this year, so this is an auspicious time to be spending time with Sita and Ram.
Jai Sita Ram!
