Bios and Descriptions

Long Bio

Rob and Melissa are kirtan artists and Bhakti Yoga teachers whose music bridges the worlds of devotion, accessibility, and sacred sound. With rich harmonies, soulful melodies, and deep-rooted sincerity, they offer a fresh and heart-opening take on traditional mantra music—one that welcomes newcomers while honoring the timeless roots of the Bhakti path.

Their signature sound blends ancient Sanskrit chants with modern, folk-inflected arrangements—creating a powerful musical landscape often described as “joyful medicine,” “heart-opening bliss,” and “love and devotion materialized.” Whether leading hundreds in call-and-response chanting at a festival or guiding an intimate retreat circle, Rob and Melissa create a sacred, inclusive space where every voice is welcome and every heart can soften.

Before they discovered Bhakti Yoga, Rob and Melissa made a vow—to center love and devotion in their life together. That intention led them into music, into mantra, and eventually into their calling as kirtan artists. While contemplating a more spiritual-sounding band name, they noticed something hidden in plain sight:
Rob
And
Melissa — RAM.

A sacred name of the Divine, woven through their own. It became their reminder that Spirit is found in the everyday. And it confirmed what they already knew: this was their path.

Rob and Melissa have performed at beloved festivals such as Bhakti Fest, Shakti Fest, Pranafest, Bend Yoga Festival, and Northwest Yoga Feast, and have led kirtans, workshops, and retreats across India, Costa Rica, Bali, Spain, Greece, and throughout the U.S. They also offer Bhakti Yoga training modules, live music for yoga classes, and international retreats. When not touring, they host regular kirtan gatherings in their hometown of Seattle, WA.

Their discography includes:
•Tejase
•Breathe
•Five devotional singles: “Jai Sri Ram,” “Shri Hanuman Chalisa,” “Saraswati Devi,” “Asato Ma,” and “Gayatri Mantra”
—all produced by award-winning producer Ben Leinbach (Jai Uttal, Deva Premal & Miten, Snatam Kaur).

Their newest release, The Story of Sita and Ram, is a mythic, cinematic journey of devotion and transformation, produced by mantra artist, writer, and producer GIRISH.

At the heart of their work is a simple mission: to bring more love into the world through sacred sound. With warmth, humility, and a deep reverence for the Bhakti tradition, Rob and Melissa invite listeners into a musical experience that is not performance—but prayer.
